STATE LIBRARY OF NEW SOUTH WALES
The State Library of New South Wales is the oldest library in Australia, being first established in New South Wales in 1826
In 2019 BSSLPS replaced 525 twin T5 Low Glare Troffer lights with an LED equivalent in the Governor Marie Bashir Reading Room.
One challenge we faced on the project was fitting a metric dimensioned light fitting into an imperial sized ceiling grid which was solved by manufacturing a bespoke frame to accommodate the difference. The installation was carried out over a two-week period during nights to ensure there were no disruptions to the Library’s opening times.
The project resulted in a total energy-saving to the client of 545 tonnes of Co2 emissions, $36,850 per annum in electricity usage with 50,000 hours of service life on the new fittings.
